Yesterday, Sony revealed the existence of the PS Vita TV, the inexpensive home Vita console that will allow consumers to stream media and play Vita games on their television, among other functions. It was revealed that many of the games that relied heavily on the unique features of the original, portable Vita (including the touchscreen, touch pad, cameras, compass, etc) may not be compatible with the mini-console.
Unfortunately, it now appears that this restriction could leave quite a few holes in the Vita lineup.According to GamesRadar, the initial list of PS Vita TV compatible games (listed here in Japanese) does not include several major first party titles such as Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Wipeout 2048, or Gravity Rush.
Also missing are
third party titles including Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation and
Rayman Legends.
This is just the initial list, and many of these games will almost
assuredly be patched to make the games compatible with the Vita TV and
the DualShock 3 controller. Consumers should be on the look out for
future compatibility lists to ensure that their favorite or most
anticipated titles will be compatible with the Vita TV.
