Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate 10 Hours Long, Has Multiple Endings

Game Director for Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate, Mark Pacini, recently spoke to The Escapist about the upcoming Vita title and shared a few new details about the Batman’s handheld adventures.

Pacini was able to confirm that the same voice talent from the console game, Batman: Arkham Origins, would be returning in Blackgate. In terms of length, Pacini revealed that the game should last approximately 10 hours. Also discussed was the ability to tackle the bosses in any order, akin to Mega Man. Interestingly enough, the order the bosses are taken down will have an effect on the ending. Pacini is quoted as saying:
“It’s about a ten hour game first time through. What’s interesting is, as we mentioned before that you can defeat the bosses in any order you want, the boss that you leave for last dictates the last half hour of the game. The player will get items he couldn’t get before based on who he leaves last. You can play the game three times through, get different things each time and the ending is different each time. Along with that we have suits that are only unlockable playing in a certain order. Each suit has a particular perk to it.”
Metroidvania style gameplay, multiple endings, special unlockables, and a ten hour game? I believe I’m more excited for Blackgate than the console main game. Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate will release for the PlayStation Vita on October 25th, the same day as its console big brother.
